While we believe martial arts is for everyone and it is for life, it is up to you as a student to come to this conclusion for yourself AND to find the right school for you.  We hope we can be that school for you.

Our School History

Our Tae Kwon Do school has been in the community since December 1987.  It was originally owned and operated by Mr. Le's master, Mr. Carl Runk, who still owns Carl Runk's World Karate in Fairfax, Virginia. 

On January 1, 2008, Viet Le and his wife, Deirdre, purchased the Alexandria school after they operated the school exclusively from November 2004 through December 2007 and proved that they were worthy of providing the level of service and discipline necessary to sustain and grow the school going forward. 

On September 24, 2008, while they were in negotions for a new contract to include expansion plans, a fire that started two doors down in the laundramat, caused major water and smoke damage in their school and the expansion space and completely destroyed the laundramat, the two adjacent stores, BB Nails and an ice cream store that was under under construction, and also caused devastating smoke damage to the entire inventory of CE Fashions.  Daunting as this was, this could not stop them from providing the service that they promised to their students for long.  They continued picking up the afterschool martial arts students in their AMP Program, even on the day of the fire, and made arrangements for temporary places to go, such as the library, Chuck E. Cheese and their own home for about three weeks while they were finding a place to train temporarily.

They began training in a temporary space (above) in Sacramento Center which used to be a restaurant.  Because of the great number of students who came out to help, they were able to set up the school in as little as 12 hours!!  This was no easy feat since all the equipment and mats needed to be scrubbed down and sanitized  because of soot and water damage.  Finally, on August 15, 2009, after close to 11 months of the insurance companies arguing, their new, expanded school came to life!  Brand new mats, brand new school.
